Cleaning Carpets
We have been in our house over a year and some of the parts that were once sparking clean are no longer in pristine condition. Guests are always welcome at our home, and we have not been too caring about the damage shoes and dirt have done to the carpet. Then we got a puppy who we had to crate train and teach to go to the bathroom outside. He was pretty good about it, he only had a few accidents on the carpet. His bones would leave massive stains on the floor, until we realized a lot of the raw hides were not sitting with his digestion.

The bigger question is, who puts white carpet in the living area?!

Jenn is ready to tear up the carpet and finish the hardwood floors underneath. Sean felt that the kitchen floor and counter tops needed to be done first (rightfully so, and Jenn agreed. See the pictures below for our lovely, ineffective countertops!) So, we wanted a cheap solution that can improve our carpets while we save money for the hardwood floors. After doing a lot of research (thank you Pintrest!), we decided to fix up the carpet!
Cheap and easy ingredients!

This one is definitely some form of puppy secretion.

This is the concoction:
1/2 cup of vinegar
1 1/2 cup water
3 small squirts of dish washing liquid

Nearby, begin to heat an iron. Find an older, white towel to aide you.

Next, take your concoction and pour it over the stain. Let it sit for a few seconds, and then place the cloth over the stain. Iron over the stain a few times and watch the stain come off of the carpet and on to the towel. You can repeat this action on all stains on your carpet until the towel is ready for the washer.

And our final product!
